Getting started

Where it is: Before opening Studio

StreamPack Studio is StreamPack's desktop app for Windows: you build your scenes, stream to several platforms at once, record, read the chat out loud and let your audience interact with the stream. Here's everything you need to get going.

What is StreamPack Studio and what can I do with it?

It's your streaming app, like OBS, but made for TikTok, Twitch, Kick and YouTube streamers. With it you can:

  • Stream to several platforms at once (multistream), each with its own canvas: horizontal 16:9 or vertical 9:16.
  • Build scenes with your screen, game, camera, images, text and StreamPack's own elements: live chat, top donors, follower goal, on-screen crowd, VTubers…
  • Record to MKV or MP4 and save clips of what just happened.
  • Read the chat out loud (TTS) with Windows voices or AI voices.
  • Create Live Actions: make something happen on screen or in your game when someone sends a gift, follows you or types a command.
  • Answer the chat of all your networks from a single multichat.

What do I need to use it?

  • Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, with the Microsoft Store (it comes with Windows): Studio is downloaded and updated from there.
  • A recent graphics card (NVIDIA, AMD or Intel) to encode the video without loading the processor. Without one, Studio can encode with the processor, but it's tighter.
  • A StreamPack account with access to Studio. You can see the plans on Pricing.
  • To stream, a stable upload connection: about 6 Mbps per platform at 1080p and 60 fps; less if you lower the quality.

How do I download and install it?

Studio is downloaded from the Microsoft Store, Windows' app store. It's about 15 MB and installs without asking for administrator rights.

  1. 1Go to Download Studio and press Download: StreamPack Studio's page opens in the Microsoft Store.
  2. 2Press Get (or Install). If asked, sign in with your Microsoft account.
  3. 3When it finishes, press Open. Studio also stays in the Start menu, like any other app.

Tip: If the Microsoft Store doesn't open, look for it in the Start menu (“Microsoft Store”) and type StreamPack Studio in its search box.

How do I sign in?

When Studio opens it asks you to sign in with your StreamPack account, the same one as on the website. If you don't have one, create it on Sign up.

Studio checks your access when it starts and stores it encrypted on your computer, so it can open for a few days without a connection.

Which plan do I need? What are tokens?

Studio opens with the Streamer and Streamer Pro plans (and with early access). What each one includes is on Pricing.

Tokens are the balance for what AI generates on StreamPack's servers: overlays, camera frames, avatars… With Streamer and Streamer Pro tokens are bought separately as top-ups, which never expire, and you see your balance at the top left in Studio and in Settings → Plan and usage.

Recording, streaming, building scenes or using Windows voices doesn't spend tokens.

How does Studio update?

Through the Microsoft Store. If its automatic updates are on (the usual), the store installs every new version of Studio by itself.

To update by hand: open the Microsoft Store, go to Library and press Get updates.

If you turned on Windows notifications (Settings → Notifications → Updates), Studio also lets you know when there's a new version.

How do I do my first stream, step by step?

The short path, from install to live:

  1. 1Scenes: create a scene and use + to add your screen or game, your camera and whatever you want on top. See Scenes.
  2. 2Livestreaming: on each network's tab, press the ⚙ gear, connect your account (for chat and events), paste or fetch your stream key, save and turn on its RTMP destination. See Livestreaming.
  3. 3Livestreaming → Emission: pick the quality that suits your internet.
  4. 4Studio: check the preview and the audio mixer, and press Start streaming. See Studio.
  5. 5In the Stream dialog, tick which networks it goes to, set the title and category and confirm.

Tip: Do a short private test, or one with no audience, before your first real stream: that way you check audio, picture and keys calmly.
